Is computers good in daycare?

-No, we won't dump in early childhood, more than computer "physical education" is better in this ageComputers are fine as long as the other centers (dramatic play, fine motor, sensory, etc) are up and running and complete. If they aren't in top condition, I would suggest you use the money that would be put into the computer center into the other centers first. Children get a lot of screen time at home and in Kindergarten they do plenty of "computer" and every year after they have "computer class" in most schools so computers at the preschool level are not necessary. If you do have computers...limit the time the children use it.
Computers have their place, but it is very limited. Working on the computer should just be one choice among many , along with blocks and puzzles and dolls and paint. No child should be permitted to work on the computer for more than 15 or 20 minutes a day and it should be a cooperative activity with 2 seats at each computer. Software should encourage thinking and creativity and should not be based on TV or movie characters. Computers should only be located in classrooms for children 4 and over.
I might be alone here, but I think computers are good -- for Pre-K. I'd say one computer that has games such as Math Blaster, perhaps an encyclopedia and art-creating programs, as well as writing programs. Assuming a teacher is always on hand to at least introduce the games and how they work and read to them the instructions, it's a great idea.

I've worked both as a young preschool (2.9 years - 4) and pre-k (4-5 years), both with rooms that had a computer, and I'd say that the computer is kind of lost on the preschool children. They're too young, so the games are more about viewing something on a screen rather than engaging. But with Pre-K, they'd open up MSWord, start typing (first nonsensically, then slow, methodical typing to write out their names and the few words they can spell). They'd play various games and learn the rules quickly. It can be quite the educational tool.

Now, for things like internet ... not in a million years. They don't need to check anything online.
Preschoolers need to learn to communicate with each other. I don't care for computers, as kids need to explore not and not let a computer 'tell them' answers can only be right or wrong. So your question is, .......... ARE computers good in day care? ---- my answer is no.
Nah not in my opinion I mean those little kid ones that like sing to you and let you play games and stuff yeah that's cool but a desktop of laptop I would deff say no to
