-do I need an undergraduate degree or a masters degree to be an assistant preschool teacherDepends on where you are trying to be employed at. :-) Many day care centers will higher assistants with a HS diploma or equivalent. A federal or stated funded preschool program will do the same with the aide position but associate teacher needs a bit more education and the lead teacher needs a bachelor's degere with an early childhood endorsement. Most places encourages you to go for at least a CDA. But to start out...no degree is usually required for assistant position.
most places take you with 16-24 units of child development and/or general ed. classes. others, would ask you for an associates teacher's permit. It'll work better if you check with the agency or school you are interested working at and consider visiting your school consuler.
Knowledge of preschool and showing you're taking courses towards a related field.
A PhD. And colledge experience. those beers didn't chug themselves! :D
Ask your counselor at the college.
