Are there books out there for young children about how things work?

-I have a student who is in Kindergarten who is really interested in how things work. He likes to press buttons and explore things what find out what part does what. Are there any books or shows out there about how things work that would be kid appropriate and not over their heads?there is a book called How Things Work. it has a fun way of explaining everything from levers and ramps to toilets and telephones.
I think there's a series called How Things Work. Anyway, google the title and see what comes up.

It doesn't really matter if it's a little advanced -- he can learn from the pictures.
