Is it the same path to become a elementary school teacher as it is with preschool?

-I know you need a bachelors (4 years) to teach elementary, and an associates (two years) to teach preschool, but what if there was no specified plan for a preschool teacher at a community college, and only an elementary program? I was panning on going to 2 years of community college and then transferring into a 4 year university, but what I'm asking is if I stop before transferring after the two years of community college that would usually be a part of the 4 year program to get an elementary associates degree, does that qualify me to teach preschool? It will depend on the regulations in your state. It wouldn't work in my state because you need training specific to early childhood. You'd probably have to take some other courses. That's to work in a licensed program. Nursery schools and other half day programs do not have to be licensed and can hire who they want, but that also changes from state to state. All you need to teach preschool is a CDA or a four year degree. In some cases I am sure would just hire if you have expierence w/ kids

To teach k-6 you need a Elementary. education degree, praxis test, student teaching.
