What is the currently accepted approach to using hugs by childcare workers?

-I'd appreciate responses from childcare workers currently working in Australia .

Is it acceptable and it what types of situations?The child should offer you a hug and you should accept it. Don't say, "Give me a hug" where you're pressuring the child to hug you. Give the child a "high-five", but don't go and give them a hug that they didn't initiate.
